This blog has been all too quiet while I've been travelling in Europe to attend conferences in Copenhagen and Gießen, do a guest lecture in Hamburg, and conduct a number of research interviews with the team behind the German myHeimat citizen journalism project. I'll add some more information about these shortly I've now added the slides for the produsage-related presentations in Copenhagen, Hamburg, and Gießen (the latter two are in German, and also feature the audio of my talks) - and for my overall reports from the trip, see here (AoIR 2008 in Copenhagen), here (produsage guest lecture in Hamburg), and here (ZMI conference in Gießen).
Now I'm already preparing for the next gigs, coming up next week: I'm travelling down to Sydney to speak at the Australasian Media & Broadcasting Congress. This is a large media industry gathering, and I'm not sure they'll like what I'll have to say - my talk is titled "Disruption 2.0: Broadcast vs. Social Media", and builds on my recent article about TV beyond broadcasting in Media International Australia and my contribution to the ABC Digital Innovation Forum in February.
In addition to this, I'm also speaking at an Interactive Minds event here in Brisbane on Thursday 27 November (5.30-8.30 p.m.), about key media trends in 2008 and 2009. Should be fun - register and come along if you can!
If possible, I'm also going to live-blog the Sydney Congress. For now, here's the Powerpoint and a brief overview of what I'll speak about. My blog posts from the Sydney Congress are here.
